Last night’s concert was an excellent collaboration between the School System, the town, and the community. Many people were instrumental in shepparding this event to completion.

Chief among these were John Gatti who, was the point-man in getting the right people and organizations to support this with a maximum effort. Also, Larry Boutillette who ensured the Lauren and Kati got to rehearsals all summer long.

Finally, I would really be remiss in not thanking Joel Ayau, whose consummate professionalism in working with Lauren and Katie bumped their performance abilities to a higher level.

A special note of thanks to the following businesses for their support and donations:

Mane Creations for Lauren and Katie’s hair and make-up.
The Vienna Restaurant for the reception.
Town and Country Florists for the Flowers.
R&R Sound for the Sound.
Kathleen Coggins and Wild Vine Studios
And, especially all of the people who attended.

Hello Southbridge,

The purpose and goals of this blog are to give the students, faculty, administration of Southbridge High School an outlet for informing the community of Southbridge MA on important activities and events taking place at the SHS. Also, it will serve as a conduit for constructive criticisms and advise from the community at-large.

This blog is not being hosted by the Southbridge Public Schools and will not eliminate negative comments if they are in the spirit of making our school a better place for our students to learn, achieve, and begin to believe in their own potential to change themselves and our society for the better.

And now, a little about me: My name is Mr. McHugh and I teach at SHS. With that being said, this blog is being hosted on the site that I created to help my students, and myself, be a little more organized. However, it has out-grown my initial objectives by leaps-and-bounds. Hence, this blog joins some of the other “fun” areas of SHSHISTORYDEPT.NET and PBNJ-TV.NET where we concentrate more on what our students accomplish and produce than on the statistics of MCAS.

In closing, I hope that the students, staff, and citizens of Southbridge use this blog in the spirit that it was intended — To help our students grow into productive citizens who care about the community in which they live.

J. McHugh
